History

Back in the 1920s, the tiny community began to grow as the McCaskill Investment Company of DeFuniak Springs opened up real estate sales. After World War II, returning soldiers were able to acquire land through a lottery. This was referred to as Soldiers Beach.

From the NW Florida Beaches International Airport, go south on West Bay Parkway. Turn right on West Highway 388, left on Highway 79, and right on US 98 W/FL 30A. Turn left on Wisteria Lane, right on Front Beach Road/FL 30, and right on 3rd Street to get to the beach.
