Welcome to Seaside

Idyllic Seaside real estate promises to infatuate residents and guests of all ages.

Thoughtfully developed, it is one of the first modern villages located along Florida’s Emerald Coast and Highway 30A. Yet it speaks Old World. Pedestrian-friendly and charming, Seaside offers a simple, connected way of life, a “New Town Old Ways.” It’s no wonder it is on the list of all 14 Best Small-cap Beach Towns in America.

Stunning architecture – pops pastel hues with shiny white columns and picket fences. There is time to admire the radiating sand and turquoise blue seas, the details of Antebellum, Revival, Victorian, and Charleston influences, the art and education of the New Age, and the spirit of friendliness so present along the bike paths and front gates. Folks pause to say hello, read behind floppy sunhats, or simply to awe at the serenely fabulous sunsets.

Seaside Real Estate for Sale

Glorious properties fetch anywhere from $700,000s to $12 million for that famed Rossi beach house. Glamorously casual and idyllic, the location of Seaside’s luxurious waterfront cottages trumps the architecture found in nearby areas. With a few exceptions, real estate is comprised of more expensive places to call home or a home away from home.

Amenities

Nine pavilions exemplify a variety of seaside architecture. The old-fashioned Modica country store with goods stacked to the ceiling, the summer concerts at the amphitheater, and the sunrise service in the charming chapel with the soaring bell tower. Add, too, the comfort of breezy clothing and flip-flops.

Beautiful swimming pools and tennis courts, state-of-the-art Fitness Center, and playgrounds are adjunct to beach and cycling activities. Browse unique shops and stores in the Town Center. Or check out over a dozen restaurants like Barefoot BBQ, The Shrimp Shack, and Bud & Alleys.

Seaside Institute, founded in 1982, sponsors performing and visual arts, literary events, and educational programs. A full menu of dance recitals, poetry readings, chamber music, and forums helps to “make Seaside better.” The charter schools magnetize children from South Walton to a challenging, integrative, and exploratory thrust.

Seaside Repertory Theatre showcases the talent of all players from around the country and its 75-seat theater. Excellent productions including Shakespeare to Charlotte’s Web and Children’s Theater add wonderful entertainment for the community and visitors. There are also a number of additional events held there. The Annual Seeing Red Wine Festival, the Holiday Pope Concert, the Halloween Derby, Stars & Stripes, Stories by the Sea, and Surf Camp are among them.

History

J.S. Smolian loved to watch his family enjoy the Florida Gulf Coast. Riding bikes and building sand castles brought them back to center. In 1946 he purchased the 80 acres of gorgeous oak-laden beachfront land where Seaside now sits. He deeded it to his grandson Robert Davis. The community was founded in 1982. Robert and Daryl Davis followed the dream of an old-fashioned community filled with beauty and culture. Seaside is a testimony to their efforts.
